GT Development Downloads

This page contains snapshots of Globus Toolkit code currently under development. The distributions on this page are known as "development releases" and are not covered by the same level of support and documentation as stable GT releases. For more information on stable and development releases, please read this page. The schedule for milestone development releases can be found here.

Some of these distributions have calls for testing associated with them - please see the Call for Testing page for more information.

Documentation for development releases can be found here.

  • Aug 13, 2008 14:00PDT -- RLS and DRS update bundle compatible with the 4.2.0 release. The updates will be included in subsequent 4.2.x releases.
    • The following package contains a new client API for use with the RLS. The new API simplifies the basic usage of the service and reduces the amount of code to be written by the user.
    • The package also contains a new client API and command-line tool for simple data replication using the RLS and GridFTP Server. The globus-replication-client and the underlying API support intuitive operations of GET, PUT, COPY, DELETE, REGISTER, and REPLICATE.
    • The bundle may be built using the make targets rls gt4-replication-client and for tests use the additional make targets globus-rls-server-test gt4-replication-client-test.
    • gt4.2.0-replica-update-1.0-src_bundle (.tar.gz format). MD5 checksum: 6845b696d92aeb609705a6f2afd82a43.
  • Dec 3, 2007 - 4.1.3 release
  • Sep 7, 2007 3:22PDT - RLS client update packages compatible with 4.0.x and 4.1.x releases
    • The following packages include an all new RLS Java client. The client is fully backward compatible with the existing Java client. The new client is a complete rewrite of the RLS Java client developed entirely in Java. Unlike the client that comes bundled with the RLS in the GT 4.0.x releases, the new client does not depend on the RLS C API and does not use JNI. Users running RLS clients on 64-bit platforms should only use the new client for Java applications.
    • For GT 4.1.x releases: globus_rls_client_java-0.0 (.tar.gz format). MD5 checksum: 732e2c57cfe2da24d290435d9dc735d1.
    • For GT 4.0.x releases: globus_rls_client_java-0.0 (.tar.gz format). MD5 checksum: 04e7401854abbd739f6f5605a1e1a266.

  • November 3, 2006 16:30 PST -- MDS4 update package compatible with 4.0.3 releases.
    • The following package contains updates to the UsefulRP, Trigger Service, and WebMDS packages, and the addition of Nagios-based information providers. The UsefulRP update includes the new rpprovider component which is a modular framework for writing custom resource property information providers. Preliminary documentation for the rpprovider component can be found here. The Trigger Service update contains various usability enhancements, including; support for multiple TriggerRules per data aggregation, support for namespace mappings in the TriggerRule Xpath statement, invalidity time ranges for action script execution (scheduled downtime support, or "blackout intervals"), and additional options for configuring input to action scripts. Preliminary documentation for the new TriggerRuleType options can be found here. A sample Trigger Service registration file illustrating usage of the new options can be found here.
